Okay, so my name is chrissy and i'm new to
this message board.
I am totally clueless
when it comes to epilepsy and i'd like to
learn more.
I just started dating this guy, who told
me he had it, i'm kinda freaked out about
it, and i'm worried that something could
happen to him, while he was driving, with
me, or without me in the car.
I guess I just need some reassurance.
I mean, how do these seizures come about?
Can he die from it?
What can I do to help?
If anyone has any thoughts or answers to
my questions, I would really appreciate
it. Thanks a million.

Depending on his particular diagnosis, the
seizures usually occur at random times due
to who-knows-what?. In very rare cases
do epileps die from their seizures
(assuming his diagnosis is a standard
epilepsy).
When their minds are already occupied,
say on driving, then a seizure wouldn't be
as imminent as it would if he were just
relaxing with nothing on his mind.
Therefore, once you recognize a seizure
activated, try to ask him questions to
occupy his mind. Do not force him in any
way physically, for this could cause harm
to you or him.
