Hi everyone

just wondering if anyone has suffered pubis symphysis dysfunction when they were pregnant.

I suffered it particularly badly (apparently) and the whole thing was totally poorly managed.

Now I would like a second baby I am terrified of it happening again.

The dr says he can help by doing some diagnostic injections and denervation treatments.

He is doing the pubis symphysis itself and the sacro iliac joints. My first set of diagnostic injections (anesthetic and steriod) are happening first thing on monday. I am scared silly.

The dr said he will sedate me but doesn't use any local anesthetic as he says it's not necessary.

Has anyone else out there had this done before and be willing to share their experience. I'm concerned about the fact he won't numb me first. Is this normal???

I really hope to hear from someone with hopefully some news to put my mind at rest

Pubic Symphisis
There is a chirpractic adjustment for this, however, you are having other problems in the pelvis and the way it functions. Forget the injection and see a good chiropractor who can perform myofascial release and get inserts for your shoes. They should help by improving the efficiency of how you walk

Thank you for your comments.

I visited a chiropractor almost every week for 6 months who did in fact help me but never "cured" me.

I also wear orthotics (custom made ones too).

I've had the injections (36 hours ago) and am in agony. It's the early hours of the morning and i'm sitting here in a reclining chair with a hot water bottle, pain killers and valium. It is impossible for me to lie down.

Oh well, hopefully the pain will ease soon. I am told the steriods in the injections irritate before the work their magic.

Thanks again,
sarah
