I read this article earlier this morning, and I found it to be very interesting. The president of a tribe in south dakota is trying to fight the governor and the abortion ban with hopes of opening her own planned parenthood clinic in the reservation where she lives (where the governor can't do thing):

Hey, cool! Reservations to technically count as separate countries kinda, so she can do anything she wants :).

Can non-indians go to the reservations and get abortions there, or only native americans?

you just have to love independent legal residences!

everyone! Which is why our native american friends have been in regular contact since roe.

Seriously, anyone who thinks that abortion will completely disapear if roe is overturned is not only fooling themselves but is absolutely ignorant of the law and all of the opportunities available which will be perfectly legal.

First, overturning roe will not make abortion illegal nationwide. Instead, it will revert to a states' rights issue and several states had already made abortion legal prior to roe. These states will once again be safe havens for those who can afford to travel and travel companies and organizations will once again offer very reduced rates to travel to these states.

Second, independent legal states such as reservations will probably open clinics or provide space for doctors providing abortion. Since the reservations are independent of the federal government, the clinics or doctors will also not have to comply with ridiculus laws like how wide the door frames must be and will also not be required to give the women coming to them false medical information.

Third, with mifepristone (aka ru 486) small and widely available, it will pass into the country through many of the same lines as illegal drugs already pass into the country. It will probably be even more widely available than it is today.

Fourth, organizations will spring up, much like they did prior to roe, to get poor or destitute women the care that they need so that they do not start resorting to self-induced, or unsafe abortions (which they are already starting to do in some locations). Doctors will go underground or will train individuals willing to go underground. Women near urban areas will have greater access than women in rural areas but today, unlike the time before roe, we have a larger ability to communicate rapidly to help those in need.

And, though I don't know how feasible it will be, I have heard some discussion of opening up large, stable ships at the ports and harbors which will offer a "weekend" or "dinner" cruise out of us waters. At any rate, hopefully .Women will not be dying in the sheer numbers that they were prior to roe should we have to resort to these other outlets for a short time.
