Well I know this probably sounds stupid but it drives me nuts. Shaving your pubic hair. Should it be shaved completely, partially what????? It really bothers me because I haven't had sex yet and would like to soon. This is the only thing that holds me back. I have shaved it all off before but shaving everyday is an irritation and it hurts to shave like my skin is sensative. Also shaving down there isn't really easy. I don't know i've never talked to anyone els about this before but if you can please help. Also what should I use to get a really close clean shave. Thanks

Close clean shave = new razors and shaving cream.

Shaving is a preference, so it would be whatever you like. Some people don't like it at all, other people go completely bald, still others have a trail to happiness. Do whatever you want.

Also use a little hydrocortizon cream to keep those shave bumps away.

Just another opinion. I have completely shaved down there and I love it!! I did it for my bf because he wanted me to once and I said ok one time. I was really worried about irritation so I bought this shaving cream called coochy (i think you can get it at www.Erotica.Com) but you probably can get it at any store (online or what not) that sales "intimate" stuff. Anyhow I also dont shave it every day. I have sensitive skin too and if I shave it too much I get red bumps. So I shave it when I know that my bf and I are going to get to be together (if I have the chance) and let it grow when we arent then shave it again. It is really important that you use a brand new razor every time... I found that this helps reduce the irritation (another reason I dont shave everyday!!$$$) and dont shave anything that doesnt have shaving cream on it (so dont shave a spot then go over it again with out reloading on the cream) one last thing.. Its easier to do if you are in the bath instead of the shower. Hope this helps you...

I shave it all..!!I cant stand hair..But anyways..I shave everyday..If I skip a day I find that my skin gets irritated..And I have the "red bumps"..Which are ingrown hairs..I always use shave cream and condictioner...(that goes in your hair)..And it always helps my skin..If I dont use it ..I always itch and have razor burn the next day...Everyone is different but try shaving everyday and see if it doesnt take the pain and itch away..Because I use to shave like only on weekends..But then I started shaving every night and its so much easier and way more comfortable!

Not all guys like the totally bare look. It reminds some of them of little girls which is just gross. Why not just trim it close but don't go bare. Or wait til you have someone special and let him do the honors.

My bf like it all gone and he prefers to go down on me when its all gone I did it once but it made me feel like I was a little girl so I just keep it nicely trimmed and he still goes down on me so I guess its totally up to u and what u like and what is comfortable on u

I do a close trim too, and shave on the inside of y thighs, keeping it short on the labia and the mons. I like that little triangle of hair!

Shaving bare is a hassle really in my opinion, and my boyfriend doesn't like it either really. I just trim the mons and shave below that. It's easier and it's not as irritating as long as you use a new razor and shaving cream. I've noticed when I do that I don't even have to worry about razor burn the next day.

You will have to un-capitalise all of the letters in that link though. Ehealth has auto-capitalise on!

Yeah, I never really know what to shave when I do. I don't like a ton of hair, but I shaved it all once and felt like a child. Normally now, I just shave mostly when my bf and I are going to be together, and I normally shave most underneath so it's decently short and then trim up everything else. But I always get the bumps along my bikini line. I hate them they are so embarassing. I use conditioner too! Glad i'm not the only one!

I have gone bare-not for me. I have also done the straight line-that was cool. I think the best of all is the triangle. It's definitely the easiest, because you just have to shave parallel to your thighs-you can make as big or small as you want and it looks clean, pretty, simple, and natural all at the same time. Its definitely up to you, but thats my opinion.

I shave bare, but my skin is very sensitive and I have a lot of irritation no matter what. I'd like to get a brazilian but i'm too scared... I had my legs waxed once, and the pain was terrible. Anyone here get brazilians who could offer some input? Does taking ibuprofen beforehand really help?

I reccommend don't do anything until you have someone your going to have sex with and see what their preference is. Guys like different things, some don't care about hair, others hate it.

To those who shave and complain of irritation, you are not supposed to shave "against the grain." you are supposed to shave in the direction of hair growth (ie so your pubic hairs grow "down," then you shave down). This will prevent the bumps and most of the irritation. You won't have as close of a shave, but I find it preferable to the itchy bumps!
Additionally, using a shaving cream for sensitive skin is better...Even better if it has no added fragrances, and make sure to let your pubic hairs soften up in warm water for a few minutes first. So try shaving at the end of your shower or bath. Use a fresh razor each time. Pat the area dry, do not rub, and make sure it is completely dry before dressing - preferably in cotton underwear, and looser fitting pants - tight pants restrict air flow, causing moisture to form and bacteria to build up...Very bad for a freshly shaved area!

I use either bikini zone shave gel or hair conditioner to shave, and afterward, even though it hurts like h.E.L.L I use the bikini zone after shave. Keeps the irritation at bay.

um as I said in an earlier post I have been getting brazillians since I was 16.... So hopefully I can help... I have honestly never thought that brazilians hurt that much at all... Yes they are uncomfortable and a bit awkward until you get used to them... But the pain I find no worse than a leg wax.... But then again some people have different pain thresholds so u may have a low one... Then I guess u could try taking panadol or something before but I cant help u with that cos ive never tried it

Hiya, I use nair or other removal creams because ive got sensitive skin and get really sore if I use a razor. But I dont get rid of it all that would feel wierd I go for the triangle, and then trim it down, that works for me. Also im gunna try the conditioner trick now, cheers xrx
