Q: Time Frame From Diagnosis to Treatment?

I know this varies, but I was diagnosed 02/08 with invasive ductal carcinoma and dcis with no clear margins. We did genetic testing, which took three weeks and brca1 & 2 were negative. Re-excised lumpectomy with still no clear margins on 03/14. I went to the onocologist on 03/20 and he told me in addition I was her2neu . That was a shock and as he was talking he mentioned "aggressive" I assume due to the her2. When I asked my surgeon when they found out I was her2neu they had only found out that day from the oncologist. They checked my file and there was the addedum to my path report from 02/08 stating the her2neu . It was sent to surgeon 02/10/06. I'm not sure if the doctor "overlooked" this or perhaps the file clerk filed too soon, but I was a little angry.

My question, have I done harm in waiting for chemo. Due to the fact that we didn't know about the her2neu? Of course, my doctors and supporting doctors say no, but i'm unable to find a "timetable" for treatment following diagnosis on any of this. Thanks
