Girl's name: pretty nice.

Boy's name: did .God get pissed off at .Adam and .Eve stealing his apples and torch the garden? Besides, .Eden sounds very feminine to me.

And if you're planning to pronounce it as '.Aiden', just spell it as .Aiden.

Know I do not want to pronounce the name as aiden as I hate that name and I hate comman names....Edan is a boys name and eden is a girls name...What do u mean by did god get pissed off ect??? I cant think of anymore unusual names...What do you think? Can you think of any? This is my first baby and i'm not even sure if its going ok as I had a bleed and the scan cant see anything yet as he's too tiny...I am very worried about this...But i'm trying to take my mind off things by thinking of unusual names.

Eden as in 'garden of', and .Slaine as in 'mowed down'. :p

how are we classifying 'common' names, anyhow? Are they names other people have heard of?

i've looked on that, and they have plenty of unusual names, including lists of .Shakespeare and .Tolkien names. If you call your kid anything out of .Lord .Of .The .Rings, they will kill you, but I *dare* you to call it .Benedict (except with a k instead of a t, dammit!). Or .Elbow.

what, filter? Benepenis? Xd

Edan does feel like a feminine name. I'll bet when you see the baby you'll agree. A boy needs a strong sounding name.

I'm not certain why the trend towards unusual names. It is a known fact that children with odd or uncommon names do less well than children with average names. I don't know why that is and I don't have time to find any statistics on it right now.

That said, you should name your child whatever you want to name your child and stop asking for advice if those are .Y.O.U.R choices. People will give their personal opinions and it may not be what you want to hear.

Hey Girlfriend!
You are in uk? Always loved the name edge (edgerton)
also like the names levi , eliason, gage, giddeon, claye
for girls: gabrielle, olivia, octavia, griet
these are not too common compared to: john, david, chris, mike etc.
Hope you are feeling some better today. I know you are excited about this little one you are about to bring into the world. Keep those positive thoughts girlfriend! Keep us posted!

I am both fairly unemotional and .British. Don't really do anything other than sarcasm. :p

Whilst everyone feels for you in this difficult time and hopes that you won't lose your baby, eden really isn't a good name for a boy as it is too feminine. Plus slaine is almost identical to slain, which means killed. Not a good choice for a kid - you wouldn't call it stabbed or m*rdered, so why slain?

I only like eden for a girl and slaine, imo, is an awful name! Very violent, even with the added e. Sophia is nice, but rose is to be expected with it.
