I am a 21 year old male with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. My cardiologist believes a virus caused this. At the time of diagnosis, my ef was approximately 40%. One year later, my ef improved to 50%; however the doc believes it is a little lower then 50% due to trace mitral regurgitation. Is this normal for idc patients? I would appreciate any information as far as prognosis, and possible complications of this disease. Thank you. - cody
