i received oral from a man on nov.4th with rimming. About 4 weeks later I was diagnosed with strep and had a sore on my forehead which I thought was a zit gone bad. It was round small scab. It lasted about 2 weeks and caused my the gland behind my right ear to swell. I took omnicef for the strep and it cleared the gland swelling and strep in about 2 days. My wife had strep at the same time but about a week later she developed a small scab on her shoulder blade that also lasted about 2 weeks. She has been battling a sore throat since. I thought it was impetigo which is common with strep. I now have developed generalized swollen glands, thrush and I am concerned about syphilis. The gland swelling was progressive. It started in armpit then a week later groin then a week later neck, etc. Neither of us had any chancres on genitals, mouth nor markings on the palms or soles.

I just recieved a negative hiv test result (16 weeks). Questions:

1. Does this sound like syphillis?
2. Does syphilis chancre mostly present on the genitals?
3. Does syphilis cause thrush?
