Is It a Hemroid? Posted: 03-20-06 17:20pm
Hi, about a month ago, I noticed I had a
fleshy bump around my anus. It
doesn't hurt or anything and isn't hard.
Only problem i've had is itching. My
problem right now is that is it a hemroid?
I will be going to meps for the air force
in august and I will get a physical there.
Last time I was there (august of last
year) they did a rectal exam which the
doctor just said "bend over and spread em"
I found out this was to look for hemroids
and other things. I'm pretty sure
i'll be disqualified if I have a hemroid
so i'm worried about this. Do
hemroids heal on there own and how long
does it take if they do and what can I do
to speed up the healing process? Or
will I have to see someone about this
problem?
I'm just not sure if it's a hemroid or not
since it's just a fleshy thing and doesn't
hurt or burn and i've had no blood when I
go to the bathroom.
Thanks for your help.

Ok, can anyone with knowledge about or
experience with hemroids just let me know
if they heal on their own?

I couldn't say whether it is a hemorriod
or not. I do know you can get cream (for
hemorroids) that will help with the itch,
it will also help shrink it.
You won't be disqualified if you have a
hemorroid. Checking your anus is a part
of a normal physical.

Thanks for the answer. I just read that
having hemorrhoids will disqualify you if
it's large, presents symptoms, and has a
history of bleeding. Whatever I have is
not like that and hopefully it will not
get like that.
This is what it says:
(3) hemorrhoids, internal or external,
when large, symptomatic, or history of
bleeding (455)

I'm pretty sure this is now just an
external hemorrhoid. No pain or anything
and no blood. What I would like to know
is if the distended vein will heal itself
and go back to normal or will it stay like
that?
