Is This Normal? Pelvic Pressure
Posted: 03-19-06 15:26pm

I didnt even know what I was experiencing until I read it on here..
I always have this pain in my pelvic area that makes it hard to lay down, sit up, roll over, get out of bed.. Etc.. And from being here I read that its just pelvic pressure from the baby.. My baby hasnt dropped yet and im 34 weeks.. But it just keeps getting worse and worse and is getting to the point where it hurts to walk now too. Is this normal or should I be worried. Cuz I am worried lol

Hi neeko177

i'm 26 weeks and I am getting it really bad. When I roll over in bed it really really hurts - on either side or both. It hurts when I walk too, particular during or after bh contractions.

This is my forth pregnancy and all have been the same. Don't worry I think its normal.

Have you had an ultra sound done yet? Your next doctor's visit you should bring up your concern. The baby should be turned and dropping very soon and i'd be thinking breach birth if it doesn't happen soon.

I heard that the baby can turn up to one week before delivery...Or as soon as your body begins to contract.....

It is called long ligament pain. Your body is having to stretch to accommodate the baby. It is more common the second half of pregnancy.

Yes. Some people never have bh contractions. Some people have them all the time. You may even be having them and not know it because they aren't painful, just tightening.

Ohh alright!!! That's cool...We're only days apart!!

Oh lord...I know what you're going through!! It seems like everyday I face an obstacle that wasn't an obstacle before..Like walking!! Or should I say waddling!! I can't stay in one comfy position for more than 30 mins!! It's a pain in the ass to tell you the literal truth!

I'm trying soooo hard to not gain anymore "unneccessary" weight...I'm just sooo hungry!! Lol....Have you had your 1st cervical check?? I get mine on the 27 th at my next .Appt.

Good .Luck girl!!

What you're describing is normal. Some women are really sensitive to the pressure being put on the pelvis, but remember that your pelvic joints and hip bones are adjusting and widening to get ready for labor and delivery. Your skeleton is actually "loosening" and that can account for a lot of the discomfort.

Since it's abnormal for you, it can't hurt to call your ob jic he wants to see you.

It could be something called spd. I forget what it stands for but the pubic bone sort of separates. If it is this then it will ease off after the birth but in the meantime you need to get lots of bed rest. The dr/physio can also give you a support belt, and crutches may help with walking.
