Q: Depo Question...

Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with "teen pregnancy" but this is the most active board on this site, so I figured I might get an answer here! I used to post here quite a bit back in the day (when kia_breizze and all them were here all the time) but under a different nickname. Anyways, for my question.....

I got my first ever depo shot this past week.... I know it says to get it within the first 5 days of your period, which I did.... 2 days in.... So anyways I got my shot, and my period went away (the same day!) is depo supposed to do this?? I know your not supposed to get your period while on the shot... But I thought that you would at least finish the period you were on before then. I asked a pharmacist today and she said that she didn't know if it was supposed to do that or not.... So I figured I would ask here, taking for granted that some of you have been on the shot before, or are currently. Has this happened to you? Or should I be worried? Thanks in advance girls!!

I'm Not Sure About Periods, But...
I have heard that depo can cause all sorts of problems with brittle bones and the like, so be careful with that.

If u dont' mind me asking u how old u are? And then I will tell u that it will do that. I was on depo for two years straight and I was lucky if I had three periods the whole time. And just to let u know that there is law suits out there on the depo that's why I came off of it when I did. Also that I works goood. Not saying u should do what I did but I no protection at all and never got pregnant. But please don't test it to make sure. And if u are on time for your shots like u should then u don't have to worry about anything.

Thanks for your replies.... To answer your questions.... I am 20 years old, I don't really think that I am pregnant, because the last time I had sex was about a month ago and I was on oral contraceptives then... I mean its a possibility that I could be pregnant, but as of right now im ruling that out. The only reason my doctor switched me over to the shot is because with the pill my pap tests kept coming back irregular... So she thought that maybe it was the pill that was doing it, and decided to let me try this to see if it made a difference.... As for getting pregnant while on the shot.... Thats difficult right now, im in a steady long-term relationship, but my b/f just went to jail about a month ago so I won't be having sex for awhile to come anyways! But I will definitely be using condoms while on this because ive heard too many stories of girls getting pregnant while on the shot.
