I've been on alesse and I hate the pill. I don't like having to take it everyday (i haven't missed) and i've had problems with spotting.
How is the patch and spotting?
Is it just as effective?

Be Carefull
Hi
i have taken several diff types of birth control and they did not work right for me I took the shot and it is hassle free but it can make you gain alot of weight and very moody and than the last one I tried was the patch ortho evra it worked very well I had regular periods with no spotting in between but I like many other people I know ended up getting alergic to the glue that keeos the patch on. So I had to take it off and have been trying to get pregnant since the end of november my husband and I have been trying almost everyday and nothing still also the worst part is since I got off I have been having a period ever other week and it lasts a whole week. This is not just spotting it is awfull! Be carefull the way the patch works is by tricking your body into thinking you are pregnant so you do not ovulate and now I still have not and think it may have caused a serious fertility problem.

I do not recommend the patch because of the side effects. The patch has been found to increase a woman's risk of blod clots and death significantly more than any other kind of birth control. Especially if you smoke, I would not recommend the patch. Please do some research before you try this method, and be sure to ask your doctor about this!
