i have noticed the same problem... i have had only one sexual partner the same one for the last year and up until recently never seemed to have the problem but the last few times it has been really bad. it usually ends when i got to sleep but it hurts so bad that i can't move. I enjoy sex but i got up to use the restroom and literally fell down in pain... something that can stop anyone from wanting sex! i can tell that it isn't a muscle pain for me... my first guess was that maybe he was hitting my cervix but that seems strange because we have been sexually active for over a year and his previous sexual partner did not experience the same problem. This post really helped me to get different views and what not so thanks and i guess i will make an appointment to talk to my doctor in the morning!

hey all ive experienced this problem before too but only when were in the missionary position with my legs up on his shoulders, it feels similar to period cramps and only lasts while were in that position. We were both virgins until we had intercourse with each other or done oral or anything so it can't be anything to do with STD's. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I'm not the only one!
Wow. I have been looking online all night and Im so glad I found this. I am experiencing the same thing! I have been having pain after and during sex. After is the worst. It feels like cramps x's 10. And like the others it is worst during doggie and other deep penetrating positions, I have found being on top to work the best. He us fairly large and of course he believes he is hitting my cervix, and after reading everyones comments, i guess this could be. I am scared i am pregnant or have PID, any answers?

Hello! Yes I have the same problem every once and a while, especially when we're doing it doggy style. And it seems like it could be a number of things. Last night though, it hurt so bad we had to stop because i started crying. Usually I can deal w/it but holy crap. I thought something was going to be ripped out of my stomach it hurt so bad! I had read a few people saying that this can happen if you have a tilted uterus....which I do have apparently. At least that's what the gyno said...it took her forever to find it when I went! (how embarrassing that was!) I don't think it's really anything to worry about! Unless it happens EVERY TIME you have sex, definitely go see a dr asap! But if you're like me and it's maybe once every few months (if that), odds are he's just a little too big and hitting your cervix or maybe you have a tilted uterus! I don't know if it's the same for you, but I don't get this pain every single time we are in any kind of deep penetrating position...it's only sometimes.
I can also say....that when it's close to my period ending or beginning, I get really bad cramps....the other night it happened to me actually now that I think about it! It hurt so bad after wards that I starting digging my nails into my boyfriends arm when we were laying there because it hurt so bad! But like I said, that's only when it's close to my period ending or beginning. Is your pain every time you have sex?

I've had the same problem unless im in the simple missionary position. Sometimes it's not too bad when im on top, but any other way it's extremely painful and i have to stop. Although my partner is very big, Someone on here said that we are supposed to be able to stretch to accomadate it. I havent yet checked in with a doctor, but if anyone has some serious real good possibilities please post them.

painful intercourse and lower stomach bloating
FYI .... From a medical stand point .. have an ultrasound done. 2 reasons. one when pms the ovaries tend to be tender and if you have a cyst on the ovary this becomes for pronounced during pms or depending on its location and size can cause tender bloated lower stomach, painful intercourse all the time or even just during pms. usually some of these cyst will pop or go away after your cycle.

I suggest that everyone trying to sort this out try justanswers.com. I went there and the doctor I worked with suggested that my problem (cramps during and for about 5 minutes after sex only during a certain time in my cycle) could be caused by a corpus luteum cyst-- a functional cyst. You're not supposed to get those if you're on birth control like me, so he said I should have my doctor increase my dose of birth control pill. I feel much relieved by this suggestion and answer of how this problem can be explained. Smile
