Q: Spotting Blood 5 Months After Hysterectomy

I had a partial hysterectomy 5 months ago. Every since it seems like one day out of the month, I will find blood on the tissue after wiping. It is never enough that I have to wear pantyliners, but I will notice is for 1 or 2 days. (bright red) after making love with my husband the other night, we both notice blood on him and after cleaning myself up, I didn't see anymore. I have not be hurting, or any other problems, but I am starting to get worried. I was wondering what could be going on... Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds to me like you still have your cervix?
If so then it is quite possible that there is a tiny amount of endometrial tissue in the cervix that is still affect by hormones hence the small amount of bleeding.
The bit about bleeding after making love could be a couple of things, either you guys need to take it a bit easier *wink wink* or there could be a small spot of tissue on the cervix (or the cuff) that hasn't fully 100% healed.

Both of these can be fixed by a simple silver nitrate treatment that your gynae can do as a quick outpatient appointment. Most people find it painless, some will feel a small tickle-pinch

however, as I am not a doctor and have never met you I can be sure my suggestion is correct so I would advise that you make an appointment to see your gynae for a check up and tell him/her about the bleeding.
