Q: Weird Problem

Short and to the point, there's a constant foul smell (leaky gas I think... Warm, always there) from the anus that everyone can smell as well as me (though I tend to breath through my mouth now).
Stools are really really big... There's usually a small amount of blood (droplets) on the paper because of it. And typically if I don't go, i'll sometimes have really bad stomach cramps, but afterwards the leaky gas will still be there, sometimes worse.
This is what I notice: there's always this constant stream of 'gas' (or something) which smells, but about every ten seconds i'll also get a regular feeling of forceful flatulence which smells even worse.
There's never any diarrhea or nausea. I got checked for fistulas and everything. I got a barium enema, they didn't find anything either.

Um... I'm not sure if this ibs or not. There's never constipation or diarrhea or nausea... It's just starting to get to me and I don't know where else to go.

Yeah, so thoughts?

Oh, and it started around 8th grade... Slowly started getting worse over time. I'm a senior now.

I'm no doctor but my son had this problem until we discovered he was allergic to milk and wheat products. Since his diet consisted of mainly pizza (when he wasn't at home) his problem worsened. Now he eats a high fiber diet with lots of vegetables and is fine. Just a thought. Try a food elimination diet to find out if you have allergies.

Was it exactly how I described it, do you know?

I got some blood tests and they said I didn't have any food allergies.

Food Intolerance
I think I used the wrong description when I said allergy. Apparently you don't have to have an "allergy" to have problems, it may simply be that you are intolerant to certain kinds of foods. These are two sites that describe what seemed to be my son's problem. Can't hurt to try. Smelling guy!

So my description, was that exactly what your son had? Like word for word?

Anyone else have any idea what this is?
