Why do you they tell you you have to be in a monogamous relationship to be able to use the iud? What if you have sex with multiple people but use condoms?

Hi:

they recommend that you be monogomous because the iud can cause complications and problems if you contract an infection or and std. It can cause big problems if you have an std with an iud in place. So therefore, the best way of decreasing your risk of an infection is by remaining monogomous. I don't think they would want you to have an iud if you have any more than one sex partner, condoms or not. I hope this helps!! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)
