Hi, can anyone help me. My son who has cf had to go into hospital and I was very concerned about cross-infection between other cf patients. My son was allowed to just walk around the wards/play room etc, where other cf patients could be with a different strain of pseudomonas. Is this right, are they doing their job properly? I feel that even if the risk is tiny, that cf patients should be isolated from each other. I have heard that they are in usa. Is the uk taking risks. Can anyone give me any feedback what they think, specially other countries on how their hospitals deal with cross-infection. Also I feel there is a risk in the out-patience waiting rooms of cross-infection. I tell my son not to touch the books/toys etc and to keep away from other patients as far as poss, we usually sit well away. At the end of the day I feel we are the only ones that will help to protect our kids 100%, although I must say his cf team are wonderful.
