I went to the doctor's on monday for my
monthly check-up. I am now 16 weeks 4
days - and the hpm was 145. I have heard
that the higher the heartbeat, the more
likely it is to be a girl.. And the lower
the hearbeat, the more likely it is to be
a boy.
My question is what is a low and what is a
high heartrate? Like what is the cutoff
for a low heartbeat as opposed to a
high?
All responses would be fabulous!

There's no low heartbeat. They're all
normal. I think between 118 and 170 is
normal. Anything below that or above that
is abnormal.
My baby's heart rate is normally 160 and
i'm having a girl...But that's just
coincidense....My good friend's baby had
the same heart rate and she had a
boy....

I was told under 150 is a boy and above
150 is a girl and so far its been true
with all babies I know except my boy. At
first his was always under 150 but the
past few times its been in the 160s a
normal fetal heart rate ranges from
130-170

Sorry sweetie, it's bunk. I'm having a
boy and his heartrate has consistently
been in the range termed for girls.
Here's something that interestingly enough
predicts the baby's gender more
accurately. It's about 80% accurate.
Which is why even though I hoped I would
be in that other 20% and have a girl, I
kind of knew deep down inside that I
wouldn't be and that i'd have a boy.
If you can remember the exact uhm event
during which your conception occurred, try
to remember if your husband/bf took it all
the way home before he let it go or if he
barely got through the door before he
dropped it. (sorry i'm trying to not use
certain words, i'm at work and my filters
are on). If he just barely got in the
door then chances are excellent that you
will have a girl, if he took it all the
way in then look for a boy.
Let me know if you're in the 80% on this
one or the 20%.
