Huge Connection Between Lupus And the Sun
Ask your rheumy because i'm not a doc. But all the literature and rheumys will tell you that the sun is one of the most harmful things for a lupus patient. You should never go out in the sun without hats, long sleeves, and especially protective lotion. When I went on my honeymoon eight years ago I decided, what the heck, it's my honeymoon so i'm going to through caution to the wind and do whatever I want. I tanned too much, ate too much, drank too much, and had a terrific time. Two weeks after I got home I went into a bad flare. Anytime I get too much sun I flare. Sounds like you listen to your instincts if you've figure this out on your own. Have you looked at the lupus foundation of america website or any other sites on lupus? They have a wealth of information that you might enjoy reading. We lupus patients have to trust our instincts, become informed, and find a good rheumy in whom we have confidence. Good luck
