Q: Looking For the Name of a Mental Illness

I'm seeking the name of a mental illness or hormone problem that appears in men and women once a month for about 10 days. The symptoms are: darker skin, redness of the eyes, a very bad disposition and a very difficult to control temper. Anger is always present (many times without any reason for the anger) along with a rapid shaking of the left leg. When the 10 days are over, the person apologizes for the anger and seems like another person, until the next month. This illness or hormone change appears in mother, sons, and grandsons.

The person seems to seek out things to be angry about and has no sense of humor during these days. The temper can be controlled, but it is difficult. It is as if the person "needs" to be angry. When the 10 days are over, the person apologizes for the anger and seems like another person, in that he doesn't remember much of what he said during the anger period. The next month it starts all over again. He is in denial about what's happening once a month. This illness or hormone change may be passed through the parents, I am thinking it's passed through the mother.
