I'm trying not to scare myself too much. The more I read, the more nervous I get.

Here's the situation to date:
-feeling strangely bloated down in the lower intestinal area for about a week.
-noticed I haven't had a "satisfying" movement in a while. I don't keep track of such things, but at least since the bloated feeling.
-the past 2 days have shown the feeling that all is not leaving the rectum and the sensation that some is left behind accompanied with narrow stools as it seems the anus can't relax enough to allow full passage.
-no blood
-occasional wierd sensation in the urethra. Normal urinary function.

I'm a male of 38 with no real family history of such things. My diet is a combination of really healthy stuff like organic fruit/vegetable drinks, greenfoods and probiotics, hardcore junkfood in moderation, weekend binge drinking, and the occasional cigar.

Since i've had the feeling of incomplete evacuation, I have been sitting and pushing a little longer that I probably should. Maybe irritating the nerves.

I do plan on seeing my physician, but every search I do leads directly to colon cancer. Could someone please ease my mind until then and mention other conditions that could cause these symptoms that don't end with "cancer". Thanks in advance-

It sounds like constipation. Try over the counter stool softners, or safe non stimutant laxatives.

Sorry, I should have updated the readers.

My problem was excessive tension in the pelvic floor muscles that would not allow my anus to relax completely. Apparently I injured my tailbone in a fall a few weeks earlier and exacerbated it with a bike ride the day before the symptoms appeared. I put it all together thanks to alot of anatomy and physiology detective work and related articles. Thanks for the replies

I have your same symptoms! Almost exactly. Was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia at about the same time my symptoms started. What was your doctors advice/treatment?
