Ever since I was a little girl I have been having unexplained seizures and I am not epileptic. For years I did not know I was actually having sezures I thought I was fainting until I was at work and all my co-workers witnessed one. I have spoken with an epileptic friend and my symptoms before my seizures are very different and I am hoping to figure out the cause of them. I have been to several different doctors after my attacks and they never figure out what is going on with me. Before a seizure I know it is going to happen. At first I will feel really nauseaus and I will get really hot. Sweat starts running down my face and then it starts to go black on both sides moving in until I wake up on the floor unaware of how long I have been out for or what actually happens while I am out. When I wake up I am white as a ghost and feel sick and usually I will need to sleep for a long time. I am able to stop them from happening sometimes by lying down and breathing deeply until I feel able to stand but, if I stay on my feet I can't control or stop them. Usually this would happen about once a year sometimes more and usually in the summer. Lately, it is becoming more frequent though and I am trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Can someone help me out?Oh yeah, also before my seizures I also get pins and needles on the top of my head.

Hello,
have you been to a heart specialist.?
Have you been fully tested for diabetes?
Have you been to a few neurologists?
You know sweetie you have the right to get second opinions. I am 21 yrs old I have only been diagnosed with this epilepsy 2 months ago. My neuro that I saw was a total dick he told me I wasnt epi. Then I got second opinion because I had a series of bad attacks and I was hospitalised 3 times. They found out I have a rare condition and I have to go to hospital soon for further assessment. Everyone is different and its kind of a mystery thing. There are so many different epilepsies. If I remember correctly there are over 200 different types that they know of and then there are rare types to add to that. Have you ever seen a psychologist. Are you under stress. All stress factors and lack of sleep can lower a seizure threshold and make ppl more prone to seizures. Have you ever suffered from depression or anxiety. ? Some ppl can have seizures that are not real seizures and they are called pesuedo seizures and meds wont help them. Its something that the brain does in a safety mechanism to kind of protect the person when they are sad or have deep emotional peoblems. I have found out alot of info on epilepsy and this site I believe is the best yet. I hope that you find out what is happening tto you soon.
Take care sami
