My boyfriend and his wife have been
seperated 4 years, he told he he wanted a
divorce so she has recently claimed child
support and joint custody of their 2
children, for the past 4 years they shared
payments etc for the children.
She earns more money than he does and gets
welfare payments from the canadian
government, we both live off his one wage
as I am unatherized to work in canada, and
table amount for 2 kids is half his wage.
Does anyone have any useful advice that
could help us in this matter?

His ex wife's income is not factored into
the child support. Its based on his
income. Even if she was extremely
wealthy, the courts would look at how much
he is earning and figure out the child
support based on that.
What do you need to do to get authorized
to work in canada? Maybe you can start
working on what needs done to be able to
help out.
