For me he took me out for nice dinner, but
was acting weird smiling all night lol I
kinda knew he was up to something. Then
after dinner he took me to somewhere where
you can see the nice view of the beach,
knelt down and proposed to me. Hehe I was
expecting something more romantic, oh well
lol. How about you all? Im curious hehe.

My Fairytale, Posted: 03-12-06 21:36pm
My husband is a shy man in revealing his
love. I was his friend before the whole
proposal of boyfriend thing and we courted
for 5 years before the marriage
conversation came along. Here's my
story.
I got to know him through the internet and
we were talking over the phone for hours
in the nite, for about one month. We only
met once at a movie theatre with some
friends, then one day I was going on a
school camp and would not be able to talk
over the phone for atleast 4 days. He was
feeling very miserable n upset. He was
telling me not to go on the camp. I had
no handphone then, so he could not contact
me except to page(pager) me. On the 1st
nite of the camp, he paged me afew times,
then I managed to call him, and I told him
that there were many handsome n cute guys
from other schools in the camp. I
purposely lied to him and said that I was
actually flirting with my friends doing
group dates. He was feeling jealous n
making grumpy sounds. On the 2nd nite, he
paged me continously and I didn't reply.
After awhile, I purposely called him and
his friend answered the phone and his
friend told me that he was very shy to
propose as he was worried I might reject
him. So he rather not know the answer but
be my friend till he got the courage to
hear a no for an answer.
So I told the friend, to pass the phone to
him n ask him to propose n I will
consider. So he picked up the phone and
instead of proposing to me, he asked me
how was my camp n whether I have eaten?
Finally he asked me if I will be his
gal...... I must say he has alot of
inferior complex. Coz he is very dark n
not that handsome or a hunk with
muscles.....But I loved him for his heart
and love. He was great. So I asked him
if I said no, then how? He said he will
die. So I told him, no jokingly and told
him to die. After laughing, he asked if I
was joking. Lol.... I said yes, and I
heard him shout in joy to his friends...
That's how I got proposed....
After courting for 2months, on new year's
eve, he met me after work and I was
rushing home to be with my family. So we
had little time together. During that
minute, he took my hand and placed a tiny
box on my palm and asked me to open it.
There was this tiny gold ring in it. He
took it and slipped it through my finger
and with a hug n kiss told me "happy new
year, wife"...I couldn't register it. We
were unofficially husband and wife in our
hearts then itself. I took that ring that
he bought with his first salary after
joining a company, as my wedding ring.
Even the actual wedding ring is sleeping
in the cupboard. This ring is the address
to our love life.

Im a man. Girls do you think this is
romantic? Putting a ring into a small
parachute then glide it down towards her
desk then when she look where it came
from, I will be there with a big placard
of will you marry me denise! To you
think that would be cool?

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea
to make a big gesture in front of a lot of
people. It will make her feel like she's
being put on the spot, and you aren't
giving her the chance to make the decision
for herself because everyone around her is
going to want to know if she said yes or
no.
I met my husband on the internet. (he is
english and I am american.) on my first
visit to see him in person, we were lying
around in bed talking and decided that we
should get married and that was it.
If you are meant to be together you will
both know.

I wish I had a romantic story but at least
it's a day i'll never forget.
It was our 6 month anniversary. We were
on our way to target and the whole way
there he was going on and on about how
great I am and whatnot and I was just like
"thanks". When we got there he said he
wanted a hug so we're standing in the
parking lot hugging and he's still going
on and on about how wonderful I am and
then he got a little teary and said he
wanted to ask me something and he pulled a
ring out of his pocket. Then he got down
on one knee and proposed. I didn't see
this coming *at all* so I was absolutely
shocked. And I was just going "oh my god!
Oh my god!" and looking around (for what
I don't know, hidden cameras?). It was
truly the biggest surprise of my life.
And the ring was/is absolutely gorgeous.
Platinum with a princess cut diamond and a
pink sapphire on either side. It was made
for me. Then we had to go into target to
do our shopping like nothing had even
happened. I was giddy.
He said he wanted to do something more
romantic but couldn't think of anything
and he wasn't going to propose at our
apartment so we had to just get out of the
house. That's why we were at target. It
wasn't a fairytale scene out of a movie
but i'll never forget it.

My Proposal Posted: 03-14-06 16:51pm
My husband didn't actually propose to me
first. His daughter did. My husband
was married to his first wife for only
four years and they had a little girl
together. She was only one when I met
him, so she only remembers us together.
She just turned six a few months ago. I
was in the bathroom getting ready for
church after I had done her hair. She
knocked on the door and I told her to come
in as she likes to watch me get ready and
put on makeup. She taped me on the hip
and I looked down and saw her holding a
ring box. She asked me if I would be her
stepmom. Talk about emotional. I told
her I would love to. My husband was
waiting in the hallway and poked his head
in to ask her what I said. She was so
excited and shouted that I said yes. He
then proposed to me himself just for the
sake of tradition. It was perfect. She
was also our flowergirl and was so cute.
She was only five when we got married, but
she asked if she could sing a song for us
at the wedding. She stole the show!
She is my little shadow and one of the
best things that has ever happened to me,
after my husband of course.

My story isn't very romantic either.....
My man and I had been together for 3 years
and we had already started talking about
marriage before it happened.... We were
at my house and we were getting ready to
go out to dinner at red lobster..... I
was walking toward the door to leave and
he was behind me... He grabbed my arm and
said "wait" and I turned around and he was
on one knee with a ring in a box holding
it up towards me (you know........How all
the old fashion movies do it... Hehe) the
ring was gorgeous!! He said he had been
saving for it since our 1 year
anniversary! It was a 1 carat princess
cut solitaire with a platinum cathedral
setting! It was like my dream come true!
