Q: Can Imbalance be Caused by Anxiety?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 12th, 2006
They blame in on anxiety. Sometimes I get this burning sensation that runs through my head and I feel like someone is pushing my head down and I want to pass out. After the episode, I become very weak and tired. Is this part of having a chemical embalance of the brain/anxiety? I have had to hold onto grocery carts in the passed just to look normal and not make a spectical of myself. I become afraid of going anywhere because I am afraid it's going to happen again and I'll be alone. I take anxiety meds and they seem to work, after five years I have found the correct meds that work for me. Please advise.

It seems reasonable that you continue taking anxiety medications regularly and attend regular psychotherapy sessions. Symptoms of imbalance can be caused by various diseases/disorders, including anxiety. You can also go to an ENT-specialist to exclude inner ear disorder as a reason for imbalance.
