Hello everyone. I have just started using the nuvaring on march 3rd, the first day of my period. My period usually last six days. However, it is now march 12th and I still have my period. Mind you, its is not a heavy flow and it is coming down in shades of brown than red. What is this?

It is completely normal to have brownish blood when you have you period. All women tend to have some spotting after they start birth control, it is normal to have your period do what it is doing now. The first month can be kinda whacky as far as bleeding goes, but it is normal.

I bled for 6 weeks straight when I first got on the pill. It normal and you just have to wait it out. The instruction packet with my pills say that it's normal to bleed up to 3 months. After that, you should contact your doctor.
