Side Effects From Hystorectomy
Avatar
Im a 28 year old woman. When I was 26 I was told I needed to have a hysorectomy. Because I suffered from endometriosis. I was in pain constently and them removing the problem was the answer to my prayers.
Now the problem that the surgery has caused me has left me devastated.
I knew that by them removeing my uterus. They would be seperating the muscels in my stomach. But because I have always been active. And worked out 3 times a week I did not think that that would be a problem. Since the surgery I have no sensation in my lower abs. And under my sternum my musels have gathered and im unable to wear jeans or pants with a button because it applys preasure and causes me to be short of breathe. I have contacted plastic surgents. I've asked my gyno what I could do to promote the muscels to move back down. And noone has an answer. I no loner excersise because instead of burning fat. My upper abdominal area bulges and causes extreme discomfort. Can you please tell me how to correct this problem. And find a doctor in the area I live to help me. Thank you
clovea

Extremely eHealthy
I am an extremely unhealthy 48 year old & I had a hysterectomy (by choice not because of any medical problem) at 43 I haven't done any real exercise since age 10 (due to health issues) exceot I did walk abit until about 15 years ago!! I am very overeweight & was when I had the hysterectomy yet I have had absolutely no post-operative problems so far as that aspect of my body/health is concerned nor any new medical problems.

Personally I think you should get yourself thoroughly checked (including at least a laparoscopy - that's what it is called here, they make two tiny incisions, below your navel & at the top of your pubic hair then insert a camera & check out all your internal organs & areas & they can often fix any problem at the same time (depending on the problem of course). To me it sounds like your dr may have sewn you up wrongly, not done a proper/complete job, or left something behind or maybe you have an infection?? But in any case get a new dr & new gyno & keep searching till someone finds the answer because i'm sure there is one & I would be stunned if you don't find some sort of mistake in the original surgery.

Good luck
