Hi,
i'm hoping there is someone out there who has been in a similar situation as I am in now and can let me know how there situation resolved or can help me figure out what to do next.
For 2 months now I have had a sore throat headache and ear pain (feels like and ear infection deep in the ear) w/ringing. The sore throat feels mostly like it burns and there is a sharp pain that comes and goes under my right ear. I'm also experiencing a tingling sensation in my neck and jaw that has been so intense that it has awoken me from sleep.
I've been to the pcp 4 times, seen a thyroid specialist and today an ent doc who could not find anything wrong w/me. He did put me on antibiotics in case there is a sinus infection and ordered a ct.
This is really driving me insane! The feeling of constantly having to swallow and yawn and being so painful is giving me such anxiety.
I look forward to any feedback....I'm not even sure this is the right forum for this but my dentist did say that I grind my teeth and my mother suffers from tmj.
Thanks!

Either ask your dentist if you have tmj and what he can do to help you or find a tmj dentist/specialist who can assess you. If you are grinding your teeth at night, you should have a good bite splint made to wear at night. That could resolve all your problems.

I hope you get the help you need soon,
carol

Tmj And Ear Pain/ringing
I have suffered with this tmj, mostly on my right side for almost 2 years now. I have been to 7 ent's, and all I got was steriods, antibiotics, etc. I have constant buzzing/ringing in my ears, but my tmj dentist thinks it's coming from my neck/jaw. I just try to ignore it, although at night is the worst. I have been under chiropractic care for almost a year now, and get some relief, but I also have a mouthpiece made especially for me by my tmj specialist that I wear every night. I guess it helps.. Some days are better then others.

I have had ear pain, throbbing, swooshing pain in my left ear since August. I have been 2 ENT specialists. They both say. Ears look fine. TMJ. I know that I have a bite disorder, but the pain only occurred since I had my ears cleaned with a water pick in August. I also remembered that I had mouth sores at the time. Could the mouth sores be causing the pain? Is it possible that the sores are in my ear? Does anyone have any answers.
