I Changed My Mind About Liv's Name
Posted: 03-09-06 17:56pm

Well, I was prepping the baby book, when I realized that since my daughter's last name is going to be .Dartan (same as mine. Dad's a loser), her initials would be ocd. Obsessive-compulsive-disorder! I can't do that to poor olivia! Sooo...I picked my other favorite name, susan. Olivia susan dartan isn't too bad, is it?
Did anyone else have some sort of naming-related emergency?

haha...You can say that again. We were talking about the kkk and white supremacist groups in social studies today, and there's a girl in the class whose name is karen christine kobbson, and until she was born and her parents thought about it, her middle name was to be spelled with a "k" instead of a "c". Needless to say, it would have been awkward for her. And while I love the name susan, I just want to make sure that there isn't a name out there that i'm going to really love that I haven't already thought of. Can you guys suggest a few names (that don't begin with 'c') before I commit?

I know what you mean, which is why, although I love the name, i'm still not sure about it. For a while, that was going to be her first name, only because I wanted to call her suzy, but then I ended up liking olivia better. Many of the really cute, feminine names end in "a", like olivia, so I don't want to do that, but I .L.O.V.E a bunch of names ending in "a". And then i'm trying to avoid using any of my friends' names, which is complicated. I'm also jewish (my mom is jewish, my dad is roman catholic, so the last name isn't exactly something that would come out of israel), so I can't use the name of a living relative, and I have a lot of them, which doesn't help in the slightest. This is the "list" that I am working off of for a middle name. Either tell me which one you like best, or suggest another.

Susan
abigail
gweneth
madeleine
eden
idina
shoshana
brooklyn

I have had the baby name troubles - 1st son had my surname (wasnt with the father) which is woods, I decided that I wanted to call the baby holly if it was a girl ~ untill I realised... Holly woods how stupid is that! Lol!

2nd child took my fiancee's name which is low, I ended up doing the same thing, had my heart set on the name beau for a boy ~ beau low, ha! I am so dumb!

i know that this is going to sound very badly but I went to jail when I was 20. I had bounced a 20.00 check when I was like 16 and didn't know it and got pulled over and taken to jail for it. Needless to say I dont' bounce checks anymore. Anyhow....A girl that was in jail with me (for beating up her boyfriend, suposidly) her name was kelly kay kelley. I though that she was joking but when the judge called her to sentencing he said "kelly k. Kelley......Wow what were your mom and dad thinking? "
it was funny

My middle name's kathryn, but I can't use it because i'm jewish and you can't name a child the same name as a living relative. I'll be her mother, and you can't get much more related than that, and i'm planning on living. I .L.O.V.E the names elyse and gabrielle, but I have second cousins monopolizing both of those names at the moment, so they're off limits. Who knew this could end up being so hard?
