Q: Bleeding Between Periods

I am aged 37 and have regular periods lasting 4-5 days max. However
last month this happened, then a couple of days later I started bleeding again, and have done continuously for about four weeks. But the blood is not like menstrual blood but very bright red.I know I have to get it checked out ,but thought the bleeding may have stopped by now so I could go for an internal.I am terrified they might say its cancer. But up until last month my periods were regular.I have no other symptoms.Could this be anything else. Can anyone put my mind at rest, and suggest it might be something else.Could stress cause this as I have been sorting out a house exchange and have been a bit tense lately.

I have been having the same problem, I had some tests run and it turns out its fibroids.
Look up "fibroids" on google and you should get lots of useful information.
The good news is its usually harmless and its definetly not cancer. If you had uterine or cervical cancer you would have other symptoms not just the bleeding between cycles.
