Q: Please Pray

Hi ladies,

i have two prayer requests.

One is that a co-worker of mine just found out that her daughter's baby has some kind of problem. Her daughter has had two babies die already because of some kind of problem with hers and the dad's genes not mixing well. The babies died at around 6 months. She has a son too that is fine. This baby I am asking for prayer for is only probably 2-3 months old and she's the sweetest thing in the world. Yesterday she had a fever but didn't look like she had one, she was as happy as ever. The doctors did tests and bloodwork, and found that her white blood cell count is high. They are supposed to get more results back today. I just don't want this woman to go through any more pain than she already has.

My second request is that a friend of our family went to the doctor for severe pain in her abdomen. She had a hysterectomy about 15 years ago, but they didn't take an ovary out so she wouldn't go through menopause (she was only 24) anyways, the pain is because there is a tumor the size of a basketball growing off of the ovary. She's a bigger lady already so we couldn't tell that something was wrong just looking at her. The doctors said they've never seen one that big before and were all really surprised. There is a small chance that it's cancerous, and she'll be having it removed next tuesday.

I just wanted to ask for your support and prayers for these women. They are going through alot right now and are on an emotional roller-coaster.

Thanks ladies...I'll let u know what happens.

It's so hard because I don't even know how to comfort my co-worker. I don't want to say "oh it'll be okay" when I know it might not be...And I don't want to say much about the sickness because I don't know anything about it. I just wish there was something I could do to make things better. I hate seeing a baby suffer and a grandmother in agony with all the possiblitites processing in her mind. I just can't believe that something could be wrong with that little girl. I saw her 2 days ago and she looked like the happiest baby, just smiling and smiling. Her mom said she had a fever but you couldn't even tell by the way she was acting. I just couldn't imagine having a sweet baby and then facing the possibility of it dying or being in pain the rest of it's life.

Just for an update...Little lily has a massive urinary tract infection. Her blood tests came back negative for any diseases, but they are still trying to figure out why she got that huge infection. Will keep you posted.

Thanks blaze...I just can't possibley imagine how it must feel to not be certain that my little girl would be okay or how my friend must feel not knowing for sure if what she has in her abdomen isn't cancer. It would be scary as hell.

I really want to have a baby, but what scares me the most is things like this happening that you have no control over, ya know. I don't think I could handle it if something was hurting my little baby, or if I had something wrong with me that would affect the rest of my life.

An update:

the baby girl, lily's tests all came back negative for any disease in her blood. Doctors are still pretty puzzled as to why she didn't react badly when having such a massive infection, but all is well and they'll keep a close eye on it for a while.

My friend had her surgery yesterday to get the sist out. Doctors found that it was actually growing off of her colon instead of the ovary like they originally thought. They got it out and she is recovering. It will be a long recovery but atleast it's going to be okay now.

Glad to hear they are both on the mend.

As for things happening out of your control, that is the one thing that scares the absolute crap out of me. Something happening to a loved one, ugh it just makes me nauseous to think about it!
