My sleep is good at the moment, in the early stages of my hypo when I didn't realise what it was I never got any sleep at all, prob 4 hours a night at most, was always tossing and turning and itching, but now its good.
I only get the sweat in my underarms, thats the worst spot, huge patches of it through out the day, but doesnt seem to sweat at night.

It may be something in your diet that you'll be eliminating in time. You might need to just get some strong anti-perspirants or something. At least it's nothing too serious, i'd take sweating to severe depression any day. Does suck though, when i'd get it it was usually only at night while sleeping.

I would like to add:

dizziness/vertigo - before I found this forum and got myself back on track again, I was in a constant state of dizziness. Imagine driving to work like that, yeah, is was fun :\

urgency - my very first symptom I noticed, was the feeling of having to relieve my bladder. I later found out that was an extreme cry for help from my body, since I ignored so many of other symptoms.

How would you describe that itchy, over-sensitive sensation I had the other day? Paresthesia?

Looks like between all of you all of my symptoms have been covered.

The most prominent ones for me:

anxiety
cold extremities with a sense of shivering inside
depression with sudden need to cry for no known reason
fatigue
headache
hunger - almost constant
irritability
sleep - interrupted

Constant state of diziness eh? That's hard to imagine. I just spun around to see what it would be like. Freaking hell.

Tell me about it, stan. The only time I got relief was when I went to sleep and then I would only sleep for a couple of hours, wake up and have to deal with the derealization feeling. Yeah, fun times!

i only get them when my blood sugar drops. I don't know why.

Hey all, new to the forum. I know I have hypoglycemia but am afraid to go see the doctor :( doctors tend to misdiagnose and I don't trust them fully. Here are my symptom's.

Tired a lot, taking naps
lack of interest in everything I used to enjoy
no energy, unless I eat something sugary
hungry much more often. I used to be able to go a whold day without food
feeling faint unless I eat
break out in sweats when hungry
fuzzy head when hungry
can't concentrate or focus when hungry
almost pass out with too much exertion
anxiety
depression
i almost feel drunk 24/7, that sucks
headaches
fatigue

any advice would be greatly appreciated. All this started about a year ago but the depression and anxiety i've had off and on for many years but more constant the last 3 years. I'm a 33 year old female who you couldn't get to sit down and now you can't get me to get up  i'm a hard worker and greatly recognised for it at work but the complete opposite at home. I want my life back! I feel like i'm dying

Mmatters, first let me say, you are not dying. From your post, it does sound like you have hypoglycemia. I understand the mistrust of doctors, as I believe many of us have been misdiagnosed as well.

You can go to a doctor and ask for a glucose tolerance test. However, if that is too much for you, try following stan's diet, version 8. It's posted on this board. If you start to feel better, you're hypoglycemic. At the very least, even something simple as staying away from whites and sugar (hidden sugar is in many things, so read label) can prove you're hypoglycemic. No sugar = feeling better then you have it.

Try to relax and let us know how you're doing.

What do asthma and blurred vision have to do with hypoglycemia? I have both of those. My vision is where I cannot see well far away. Do you think this has to do w/ my hypoglycemia, or do I just have bad eyes like anyone else?

Bravo tango,

many hypoglycemics experience shortness of breath. As with blurred vision, I cannot see from a distance either.

The reason for this? I think stan can answer it better but hypoglycemia affects the nervous system and when your sugar levels are out of whack, you body starts to "shut down" certain areas.

Did you look at the thread titled "hypoglycemic quiz"? Those symptoms are on there.

No, I don't think I have looked at it, i'll look at it when I get a chance.

I was thinking about getting lasik sugery in a few months. If my vision has anything to do w/ my hypoglycemia, would that cause any complications??

No, as far as I can assume, because the problem isn't actually with the eyes, it's the nerves in the eye. The lasik only works on the cornea or whatever, making it more adjusted, not the nerves.

If your blurry vision is pretty much constant or happens for example, after a day of staring into a computer, it's probably not hypoglycemia. If you notice for example, that your vision is only blurry during certain times of the day and you also experience some other symptoms with it(fatigue, shakiness, etc) then it maybe hypoglycemia

Sorry if this seems somewhat misinformed but noone has mentioned hunger as a symptom.

I was wondering if anyone actually gets hungry? I dont tend to get hungry as in starvation hungry, just crave like 4 bags of crisps or a big bowl f pasta (stan - I dont actually eat this may I add lol!)

so is hunger an actual symptom for anyone or do you just eat to alleviate other symptoms?
