Hi all,

new to forum. 45yr-old male 6'4" 220lbs reasonably fit. Health issues gout (4 episodes in 4 years - 3 in left ankle, 1 in right ankle) and ectopic heartbeats (pvcs and pacs 100-200 singles per day and a few short runs of same per day) heart checks out a-ok. I also have lifetime high billirubin levels (jaundiced as a baby).

I've stayed clear of meds so far. Latest episode (left ankle) has hung around for 4 weeks now - ok one day (tho some swelling) and then back again the next day and so on. Having seen all the $$$$ cures on the web, just wondering you guys' opinions are as to whether or not any of them are much more tha a $$$-generating excercise?? Or do some of them really work/comprise a viable alternative to allupurinol etc?

I don't seem to fit the 'typical' gout profile. Not usually a huge amount of redness and heat. Just a lot of tooth-ache/broken-bone-like pain. I have always had high uric acid/blood urea levels - as in 25% over top of range.

Cheers,

mike
