Caring for the Red, Blotchy Skin Rash under my Nose caused b Posted: 03-07-06 20:33pm
I have developed a red and splotchy rash
directly under my nose. It developed upon
going out into the cold and remaining in
the cold for some time. The rash consists
of small, red circles that appear to be
indented into the skin. It only occurs
when I go outside, but I live in Michigan
and its cold half of the year. I am
seeing a dermatologist and he is saying
that it is a form of dermatitis, and he
has given me hydrocortisone butyrate for
this. I somewhat disagree with the
diagnosis because it does not itch
whatsoever, it is just red and annoying to
look at in the mirror. Can you think of
anything else that this might be, or some
kind of cure that you know of? Any help
is greatly appreciated, thanks.
I agree with your dermatologist that you
may be experiecning a kind of allergic
dermatitis. You can try using the
prescribed corticosteroid balsam. Then,
you can wait to see how the balsam will
act upon the skin.
