I Have Itching!
Posted: 12-31-03 16:13pm

I lost a baby at 21 weeks on december 5th, 2003 due to an incompetent cervix. My doctor advised me to wait 6 months before trying again. I put myself on the pill december 11th, and have been having otherwise unprotected sex with my husband. A week ago I got a really bad cold that I am still battling, so I was put on 500mg of cefzil, and I am still taking yasmin, my bc pill. I have been experiencing mild vaginal itching for the past 2 days, but not as bad as a yeast infection feels. Could I be having a reaction to the medications combined? Has anyone ever heard of this? I am concerned, because I want to start trying again just as soon as I am through with my pack of bc pills, but I don't want to have an infection down there while trying. What do you recommend???

Thank you for your advice. I did call my doctor, and she recommended monistat. I was curious, so I looked up the side effects of cefzil online, and there were several...One being genital itching!!! So just incase anyone else ever encountered this problem...This sucks, having this kind of problem on new year's eve!!! Guess what I won't be taking anymore...???? Geez! Happy new year's all!
