Q: In Constant Pain, Can Anyone Help?

I get a debilitating burning pain going down my right side (especially my arm and leg), my hand turns blue and swells, I get the shakes, sometimes I get tingling in my middle back and my right side feels weaker than my left. I have had this problem for the past 9 months now and I am only 24.

It started when I had an extremely bad headache for two days. Then I went and saw my physio because it felt like my shoulder and neck was tightening. I have had back problems for the past 5 years and have worked very hard to correct my posture and improve my back.

I went to my doctor and she put me on a small dose of endep, which has helped in keeping the pain down to a more manageable level.

I have also been to a neurologist, had ct scans of my brain, mri of my neck and collar bone and nerve conduction studies and an emg. The results were that I don't have anything wrong with my brain, thoracic outlet syndrome or significant carpal tunnel syndrom and he doesn't think it is nerve related.

Now I am seeing a pain specialist who had put me on a small dose of epilum as a test and has now trippled the dose to conduct another test. I don't feel that the epilum is having any effect except making me more drowsey at night when combined with the endep.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing these symptoms????

hi, caz24. I wanted to encourage you to post your question again on ehealthforum. This time, try the " muscular and nerve disorders” or “back pain” forums. Alternately, you can ask your question directly to our doctor online.

We hope that you find yourself integrated to ehealthforum. Please respond by private message to username: admin should you have any questions or concerns.
