Hi everyone, first I would like to say thanks for this wonderful sight. I am a little confused and was wondering if anyone can help. About 2 years ago I was dx with lupus while I was pregnant. I have been seeing my dr about 3 yrs already trying to figure out what was going on. I had fatigue, headaches, joint pain, swollen glands and he could not figure out what was wrong. My ob dx me with lupus after a positive ana. I was in the hospital for most of my pregnancy were I was told I had lupus.I recently went to a new dr who without doing blood work stated I did not have lupus but fibromyalgia. Is it possible to only have pregnancy lupus? I see a new dr at the end of jan. And i'm considering if I should ask him to send me to a rheum. Dr. Sorry to make it so long.

Tndwither...Welcome! It is so nice to meet you!

First off, a lot of lupus patients are diagnosed during or just after a pregnancy. It is speculated to be due to hormones...A lot of women with lupus complain of the disease becoming more active with their menses and hormone changes.

As for the new doctor's evaluation, did you ask why? If so, what did they say? What tests are being used as the basis for change? I, personally, would want a detailed list. If you would like a list of tests to request (in case you have not done so yet)...Private e-mail me and i'll give you a pretty comprehensive list.

As always, you can get another opinion. See if they suggest the same thing...Especially if this new diagnosis makes you feel uncomfortable.

Hugs,

The new Dr. Did not run any tests, thats why I was confused. I had 3 drs tell me it was lupus and the one who didn't do any test told me it wasn't. I see a new pc Dr. At the end of jan. I'm going to ask for a ref. To a ruem. Dr. I've been keeping a daily dairy to take. Thanks to your sight! And i've made a list of questions. Guess i'll have to wait and find out. Thanks for your quick response. Not I don't fel so stupid.

Thank you so much for the list! Wow its a long one. Exclamation i've printed it out to take to my next appt. I'm having trouble getting my records from the other Dr. Because I moved out of state, but, i'm hoping if I give him a background he'll run some tests. Was wondering if any one knew if lupus is hereditary or not? My sister has scleraderma and I was wondering if this is realated. Thanks agian for all the help!
