I'm 19 and just recently got on birth conteol. I was taking desogen and experienced lose in sex drive. I am going to start taking orthro tri-cyclen low and I was wondering if I was going to have the same problem.

Hopefully with otc lo it will get better, it is a lower dose of hormones than desogen, and a different type of progestin. Give your body a few months to see if that pill helps, and if it doesn't you may consider other options. Nuva ring is actually the lowest doseage of combination birth control available, and it is generally well tolerated in women who do not tolerate other pills well.

I have taken desogen in the past (in addition to ortho tri cyclen and nordette) and am now using the nuvaring. I didn't notice a low sex drive at first on birth control pills, because I had never had sex before, but after I went on the nuvaring there was a huge difference. It's much more enjoyable now.

I was on yasmin and it absolutely killed my sex drive. Well, it's kind of hard to say that because I never had sex until I got on the pill, but I did other stuff. Then I got on otc lo and my drive came back somewhat, but still not what it used to be. I'm considering the ring. I was also considering an iud but I hear it makes cramping worse and it can be dangerous if you get an infection. I'm only 17 and I dont want to risk ending up sterile because of an infection. Good luck with whatever you choose!!

I was on .Ortho .Tricyclen .Lo for about a year and my sex drive was gone. Now I am on plain .Ortho .Tricyclen and my sex drive still isn't back. It's disheartening and sometimes it seems pointless to even take the pill if I don't ever wanna have sex! :x
