Q: Bs During Acute Attack

I have no particular limitations for reasons of blood pressure.

1. Is 2 teaspoons per day an effective doseage during an acute attack?

2. Is allopurinol preferable to continued but lower doseages of bs (baking soda)

3. Is diet coke ok to drink while trying to keep acid down? It has no sugar...Or very little.

I really appreciate your sharing of info on this. Its very very useful.

Thanks,

1. Pls see "emergency gout treatments" section in http://www.Icuredmygout.Org .

2. Some posters mentioned they took allopurinol and bs without problem. It's better for your doctor to answer this question.

3. Diet coke can be bad for gout because it's very acidic (ph ~ 2.5) and contain phosphorus.

Good luck.
