Q: I Think I Threw Up a Pill

I took my pill this morning at around 6am, my normal time, and later I started throwing up. I don't know what time I threw up. It was before 8 I think. What would I have to do if I did throw it up? Should I take my next pill and just finish my pack early? I had sex the night before but he pulled out. (i know it's a myth but it's comforting) i'm on ortho tri cyclen lo and it was the 3rd pill of my 3rd week.

If I don't have sex until after 7 days of my next pack, should I be okay?

Edit: and if there is a risk i'm pregnant, when's the soonest I can take a test?

Thanks.

Birth control is absorbed into your system after 1/2 an hour... So as long as you puked after that you should be alright. So just take your remaining pills as regular.

That's just it, I don't know when I threw up. I was half asleep. So if I did throw it up, what would I have to do?

Geez I wish carifairy was here, she would know the answer to this one she works for planned parenthood. Your best bet is to call your doctor or even call a pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist and see what they say to do since you are uncertin of when you threw up.

My first thought when I read this is:

you most likely will be alright if you take the remaining pills as normal. Every month, when at the end of your pack you either take the "inactive" pills (that is really nothing more than sugar) or you take nothing at all..... In any case, you are still able to have sex in this week because you are still protected. So missing one day mid-cycle shouldn't screw you up too badly.

So i have had a similar situation happen a few days ago. Threw up maybe and hour or two after taking the pill. and just continued the next 2 days (the past two days) taking the pills at the normal time. The only difference is I am at the beginning of the pack. The night i threw up was the first active pill in the pack. So does that make a difference?
