Stan, I am starting to understand Posted: 02-25-08 20:05pm
Stan,
Here is a question that may clear up a few
things in my understanding of this hypo
thing:
Hypoglycemic symptoms do not necessarily
come from extreme low blood sugar levels,
they sometimes happen when the sugar level
drops too fast from a high level to a much
lower one say 175 to 85 in a short period
of time. Is this correct, because this is
what seems to be happening to me. My
levels do not get real low, but they drop
fast? Does this sound right?

Yes, this can happen, but how quickly are
they dropping is the question.

I guess I need to do an experiment and
accurately check how fast the sugar level
drops. Any suggestions on the best way to
do this?

Glucometer. Take it when you wake up
before eating or drinking and then 1 1/2
hours after eating your first meal. You
can do this throughout the day if you
like, but before bed is usually good too.
