Q: Dating And Anxiety!

Hi all,

i`d be interested to hear how anyone is affected by their anxiety when they are dating. Although I am sooooo much better than I used to be I worry about going out on dates. I recently split with my long term boyfriend so i`m new to the dating scene again. However I didn`t have an anxiety problem when I met my ex so I just don`t know how i`m going to be with someone new.

I think my biggest fear is panicking in front of someone but i`m out of touch with dating and don`t know how to determine pre date jitters with anxiety. Does anyone else find it hard to date? How do you cope with it?

You need a partner who knows what you're going through, preferably someone who himself has or has had it. People who do not understand it might think that you're nuts after they see you panicking, and wouldn't be of much help or assistance.

It is definitely hard to date at first because of all the nerves, and stress but if you take it slowly, if you find someone who can understand and accept you for who you are, no matter what then it will ease your mind a bit. They might be taken aback if you do panic, but if they love you they will support you and help you. Usually i just try to take it slow
