I had unprotected sex (no cum) with my girlfriend 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before her period.. Is that a time when she is most vulnerable to pregnancy? Or is it the other way around?

P.S. I know I f**ked up by doing this, i'm only 16. I'm not having unprotected sex ever again!!!!!!!!!!!! So don't come in here throwing insults at me, I already know that I messed up... All I need now is support and advice... Thanks!

P.P.S. My g/f took the plan b ec "morning after" pill like 20 hours later... There should be no pregnancy... I hope...

I'm happy that you're acting like a grown up by admitting that you have made a mistake by having unprotected sex. Morning after pills are fairly effective till 72 hours after sexual intercourse obviously the earlier she took it the better as it works best 24 hours after sex. I couldnt say its a 100% effective but the failure rate would be just about 10% which is very slim. Its believed to work principally by preventing your ovaries from releasing an egg, and by affecting the womb lining, so that a fertilised egg couldn’t ‘embed’ itself there. Let me just clarify that in in britain and many other western countries such as us, it is not legally regarded as an abortion-causing drug, but as a contraceptive so u shouldnt really worry at least youve learnt your lesson :)
hope this helps and good luck!!!
