I'm not sure if anyone on here is a christian... But if anyone is, then i'm asking for your prayers... I have been married for just a little over a year now and my husband and I just decided that we want to have a baby.... We just started trying and today I got news at work..... I work for the salvation army as the youth pastor and they told me today that I am getting cut from full-time to part-time.... The bad thing is, my husband is in college getting his business degree and my job was supporting us and it was doing a fabulous job... But not now.... And i'm depressed b/c I was so excited about trying for a baby and now I can't, b/c I am losing my job.... *sigh* I am so discouraged.... I wanted this so badly... And I know that god will provide in his will.... But I am having such a hard time accepting that...... I live everyday for everyone else's children, but now I want my own..... Please send encouraging thoughts......

Let me start by saying that I am very sorry that you are losing your job. I know that has got to be hard. You may have to find something else that is full time even if it isn't what you want to do, at least until your dh finishes his degree. I wouldn't necesarily stop ttc. If you wait until everything is just right before having a baby, you'll never have one. It's the job situation now, who knows what will come up next. There is never a perfect time so I say, look for another job and keep ttc. God's watching over you and if you continue to look toward him, he will provide what you need in one way or another.

I'm sorry about the stressful situation of losing your job. I have to agree with abbysmom though - it may not mean that you have to stop ttc. We've been ttc for about 1.5 yrs, but I guess I wish we hadn't waited until we thought it was the perfect time to try. I've been trying to remember james 4:14 and other scriptures though - that we're just here a short while, no matter what happens my ultimate goal is heaven, and if i'm obeying.God's commands I can have the confidence that he'll be watching over me. I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers!

James 1:2,3..."my brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."

james 4:14..."whereas you do not know what will happen tommorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."

john 14:7..."if you abide in.Me, and.My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

Prayers And Good Wishes
I will definately remember you in my thoughts and prayers through this time. I agree with all the previous posts that you may not necessarily have to wait. My husband and I decided to wait to ttc until we had our house built and things slowed down at work. We started ttc in december. Well, it is taking longer than we thought and I am now wishing we had started sooner. It sounds corney, but I always remember the line from the sound of music and it has always given me hope when I am feeling like I can't handle what life brings. I don't know if I have it exactly right, but it goes something like......"reverend mother always says when the lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window". For some reason that always stuck with me. The best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

P.S. As a professional recruiter, I would suggest checking out the local job service or a recruiter in your area. They may have just what you are looking for. You never know until you try.
