Hey mitch!

I used to be on xanax .5mg, and i'd take it usually 2 times a day when I felt like I needed it, which was usually every day. I ran out of my last pill, so my current doc prescribed me ativan 1mg. I know they say that you're not supposed to abrubptly discontinue use, but the .5 mg is so small, I told my e.R. Doc that I took the .5 and he was like oh yeah that's nothing! ...It didn't really affect me too much being off that. I know they have .25 mg too so if you're worried about it just ask your doc for a lower dosage. But I don't wanna tell you something that could hurt you, so maybe just call a doc or go over on the doctorslounge dot net, where usually docs and nurses answer your questions for free fairly quickly. I'll try to find out some more for ya!

Yeah you're right! I shouldn't go to those sites...They just convince me even more that i'm dying of something or the other! Lol! Plus they usually just tell me something I already know from reading like every single internet article about the condition i'm asking about. I'm like here are my symptoms-i think I have a blood clot...They'll be like a blood clot is...And go off on what it is...But I can't help it! I'm addicted! Lol! I pm'ed you again...

Ativan Withdrawal
Hi, I have been on ativan for extended periods of time in the past. I took myself off it without consulting my doctor because I was feeling too dependent on medication and wanted to try without it. I have not taken ativan for 2 and a half years now. The withdrawal I went through when removing myself from both 1.0mg and 0.5mg was several, 5 days , of sleepless nights. I took it once a day usually close to bedtime. I spoke to a pharmacist about it after the first time, and a few nights without sleep, and she said that what I was experiencing was normal. And she reassured me that in 5 to 7 days I would sleep again. I also asked about something to help me sleep, she pointed out a few things but told me that they can also become addictive. I decided to sweat it out and go with little sleep. Hope this helps!

Their are tests they can run to see if you have a blood clot. If you are addicted to ativan, their is help out there, just talk to your Dr., he will help you, this can be a serious problem and this is nothing to laugh at.
I hope you get the help out there you need! You are hurting people that really care about you!
Good luck

Hi sandy!

I actually did just get an ultrasound done on that leg and it showed up negative...I still worry about it though all the time even though the test shows negative and my leg continues to hurt. And none of the 5 docs i've been to seem to have any answers on why it hurts, so that's what worried me most is that maybe they missed something! I know I could go again, but I just know every time it comes back negative i'll be okay for a day and then be back a wreck about it the next day thinking oh they missed it again! That's how it is with me. I never believe it. As for being addicted to ativan or other meds, I don't think I am yet, but they do help so I can see it happening if I can't find other ways to calm down. I hope it doesn't come to that though...It's just seeming a little hopeless at the moment! Thanks!
