Sharp Head Pains
Posted: 02-28-06 17:46pm

Hello,
off and on for 20 years I have had sharp pains in the temple area and sometimes it seems like directly through the middle of my head from side to side always starting at the temple. It almost feels like an electrical shock. I have had an mri or mra or something and nothing was found. The doctor said it was a headache, but it only lasts for a few seconds. Often they will occur when a front comes through the area. Sometimes it is very painful. Also, other than the pains I am describing I never have a headache.

I am not sure what the answer to that question is however I experience the same symptoms along with having migraine headaches 3-5 times a day. I go for an mri this friday. The doctor said that the sharp pains are part of stress related events along with the beginning stages of a headache. It would definitely be nice to know the answer to this question.

Hi there! I am a migrane sufferer too, I have been using immitrex but it is sooo expensive. Has anyone ever tried that new product that is new and is advertised a lot on t.V that you rub on your head, yes, stress has a lot to do with it at times also I feel that your vision can be a problem at times and if you read a lot or watch t.V. Or work on the computer quite a bit along with sleep.
Good luck to you all!

Hello, I also have been suffering from sharp pains in the back of my head, they are pretty sharp but they only last for a few seconds. I read on some forums and they describe this kind of pain as a iceprick headache. I'm pretty scared because i'm only 16 years old, and everyone else who are having these pains are 30 and older, i've been having it for about 2 months now, at least once a day, and I only notice it when i'm not busy. I am flying to a special neurologist doctor in hong kong in a month or so, what do you all think it is?

I have gone to a doctor about these pains. He called it cluster headaches. You can look it up online about http://familydoctor.Org/035.Xml< /a> but, it is almost like that for me. Except that I feel the blood rushing through my skull for a couple days. Anytime after I feel the blood rushing through my skull can an attack happen. The pain 10 to 15 seconds. It feels like someone is stabbing my head and pulling my skull apart during that peroid of time. Really, I hate to complain about it because it does not last but seconds. Also, I got a cat scan done six months ago. They saw nothing but now the I have constant pressure in my head. And the pain goes everywhere now. Not just in the left back part of my head. Also, I am getting tired as soon as I wake up now.

Pain suffer and nothing helps for 3 years now.

I am a 30 year old with sharp pains in the back of my head. I just started getting them a few weeks ago so I'm very worried. It feels like s electical shock from the back sides of my head and travel to the front, they don't last but a few seconds but coninue on. I am worried due to I do smoke and am a little overweight. could it be caused by stress or something more serious.
