Yes,..I am a 29-year-old, single mother of 2 children, 4-year-old son, and a 19 month-old daughter. And I am a medical assistant. But,...I have a question.

My first time was 13 years a go and I never bled. I know my hymen never broke. And I have had sex after that, and still,...I never bled.

But, the other night, my boyfriend and I were having sex, and I bled very badly. I already had my period,...So,...What could it be???

I am a tad bit scared and nervous. I don't know what it could be or what to do. Can you help??

Is it possible that I still do have a hymen???? Is it possible that none of my previous lovers could have ripped or torn my hymen before????? :?:

If ya didn't lose it during sex, you certainly would have during child birth.
I never felt anything special or bled when I had sex, either. I'm suspecting my hymen was broken as a child. It happens frequently.

It is possible to have sex for years without the hymen breaking (provided that there's enough lubrication) but it's a thin (usually, especially thick hymens sometimes require surgical assistance) piece of tissue that can break easily.
Just because you didn't bleed after losing your virginity doesn't mean that your hymen remained intact - exercise, for example, can cause the hymen to break. Pregnancy can occur with an intact hymen but the birth would tear it

I know mine was broken as a child--i was 8 yrs old--and I fell on a fence climbing over. I was bleeding--mom went out and bought all the stuff for me but my period had not started. She started hers at 10 so she thought I might have--i was almost 9.

I did not start until 13 almost 14.

Anyway--i dont know if it is possible for it to remain after sex, or during birth. Seems very highly unlikely. But there are certain conditions that could cause this. Or maybe it was just a little more rough sex than you are usually accustomed to.

I would ask a dr about it.

It's Possible...

I know the last time I went to the gynecologist she told me that my hymen was still present.. Though i've had sex (and the first time I bled and it was painful) and i've had my period for 6 years now. Your hymen may be unusually thick which could cause pain during sex ( and possible bleeding). Really it just depends on what your gynecologist thinks, so i'd suggest talking to him/her about the different forms of hymen and if you might still have one of them and what options you can take to possibly keep from having the pain and bleeding from it.

if u keep scratching within your vagina coz it itches for some reason and 5 mins later you bleed it hurts the next morning your period startsdoes that mean the hymen's gone or how i can i tell its still there like a finger does go through but not all of it just half??

I'm not sure it's possible to have children and still have a hymen. It seems to me that there was another reason for the bleeding. Some women never even have a hymen (born without one) and some break with no signs at all (no bleeding).

Well if her children were born via c-section...but I am not sure a baby passing through the vagina would skip the hymen...

Well, there are a lot of things that could have caused the bleeding during sex.

When I think of bleeding during sex, I wouldn't really think a broken hymen was the cause right off. Like Georgia59 said, some women don't even have a hymen and even the ones who do probably don't even know the exact time it broke.
