My wife is 41 years of age and has hurt her back at work in february,2003(i am asking for her because she can not type). Had mri, been to a chiropractor, been through therapy for 15 weeks with no success. Also had nerve blocking shots with no success. Now wearing a back brace from mid chest to hip connected with a leg brace in order to keep the hip immoblized. Arthritisis in lower back can not sit, stand or walk for long periods of time due to excessive pain. 2 choices was given by a orthapedic surgeon. Either wear brace for rest of life or undergo surgery consisting of fusion of 2 disc.
Here is the kicker. The right knee was damaged in the service and va will not replace until the age of 65. The knee actually caused the trouble with her back and her pelvic has dropped 1" as well. Currently under workman comp. And process is very slow. What are the alternatives for the knee? Can someone help.
