I alread posted a little bit about this in the birth control forum, but it's escalating so i'll post here. I've been trying to research online and have really found nothing that seems to fit my particular situation. Here goes:
i was on depo. I bled for 8 straight months. Said to hell with it and got off the depo. I didn't really experience any side effects of getting on depo, so didn't expect any coming off of it, either. I was supposed to get my next shot sometime between jan 13-23 (i think) and didn't.
I got my first "period" on january 29th and it lasted until february 9th (12 days). I didn't have my period for a day and a half, and then got it again. This one lasted from february 11th through the 19th (8 days). Then I didn't bleed for 5 days and started again just on friday (2/24) and i'm still bleeding for who knows how long. I've always had erratic periods, but never this bad. I would bleed for approximately 2 weeks, be off for 2 weeks, then bleed again for another week, etc.
Now to add to the problem i'm experiencing tenderness down the sides of my breasts, and they're fuller. I've noticed this for approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks now. I'm fairly sure i"m not pregnant, unless I had sex in a drunken state and don't remember it!!!!
So could the change in homones be causing all of this? And if so, why didn't I experience any symptoms when I got *on* the birth control?
One of my friends suggested cutting out caffeine (virtually impossible for me as a divorced mother of a 3 year old working full time and going to school full time!) so I researched that. Sounds like it could maybe help but I want to know what's wrong with me!!

Lord..I have no idea...I think you should go to a doctor with that one...Maybe you need to be put on a different kind of birth control..There could be many things causing it ...So I seriously think your best bet would be to see a doctor...

Honey I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaant to go to the doctor, but the problem is I can't stop bleeding long enough to make it there!!! I've had to suffer the mortification of having an "exam" while on my period once, when I was 17. They gave me no choice. They made me have one. Lol i've always had problems, but certainly not like this. I wish I was psychic and could tell when I *can* go to the doctor!

well maybe you should just go ..While bleeding ...Which I know isnt the most comfortable thing..I had to do it a couple of weeks ago..For my paps...But im sure the doctor has been through it before..Probably worse...So just talk to the doctor maybe you can tell them that your not comfortable with showing at the moment because the bleeding and they might do urine test or blood test...You never know

I would. But I don't think a blood or urine test is going to help at all.

My mother had a similar problem.....They ended up finding tons of various sized cysts on her ovaries so she opted to have a hystorectomy without bothering to check to see if any were cancerous because it runs in the family. I would definately consult a doc cuz ya never know if it might be something that neeeds to be caught early! Good luck
