I have gonorrhea, and am 2 days into the treatement (ciproxr). I would normally be content to wait, but I am on holiday in brazil only for a short time. And need to know if it is ok for me to have safe sex?

Also can I have alcohol with the antibiotics I am on?

I hate to sound like an a**hole but I am on holiday and I am never going to get this chance again in my life.

Seeking help

No, no, no!

Gonorrhea is an std. Whoever you have sex with is at risk of being infected because of you!

You shouldn't have a.N.Y sexual contact for *at least* 7 days after the beginning of treatment. You need to give the medicine time to work. And you're still contagious, so having sex, kissing, etc. Even protected has its risks. Gonorrhea doesn't only affect the penis. It's an infection of the urethra, but it can also affect the rectum/anus, throat, and in some cases the eyes!!

I realize you're on holiday but you need to be responsible and get it taken care of. It isn't smart to drink while you're antibiotics. It can make them much less effective.
